OSWESTRY crashed a 24-5 defeat at home to Bromyard in division two of the West Midlands League on Saturday.

Bromyard applied the early pressure and pinned Oswestry down.

The hosts survived the first 25 minutes of constant attack before the defence was finally breached and the visitors broke the deadlock with an unconverted try.

From the restart Oswestry tried to get the ball further into the Bromyard half but their big kicking full back was able to kick the ball deep into the Oswestry half and once again applied further pressure.

Bromyard soon doubled their lead and an conversion saw them establish a 12 point lead.

Chris Moore came on for an injured Iwan Ellis who had a problem with his arm and Oswestry tried to hold out to half time.

Just before half time the home defence was again breached for an unconverted try as the visitors established a 17 point advantage.

Oswestry kicked off the second-half and went on the attack.

Jed Corbett started a play off taking his wingers on the attack in the Bromyard half and sadly a wide pass could not find its man and Harry Morris intercepted the pass and ran 60 yards to score under the Oswestry post as the visitors led by 24 points.

Young Sam Lloyd came on for his debut and although being smaller than the opposition and young in age equipped himself well and showed courage by tackling the biggest of the opposition.

Oswestry did not give in and once again Corbett went on the attack with Jacob Jones in support before feeding Ed Evans who was illegally stopped with the offender sin binned.

Oswestry went on the attack with Corbett passing to Ed Evans who was able to get over the try line to score Oswestry's consolation try.
