FLOODING is possible at the Severn/Vyrnwy confluence on Monday, according to an alert from the Environment Agency (EA).
The EA has updated its flood alerts for Monday, November 13 after winds and rains from Storm Debi have impacted on the sources of both rivers, which meet at Crew Green near Oswestry.
A spokesman for the EA issued its warning for people in the villages around the confluence to be aware for any potential flooding as of 9.30am.

They said: “River levels have risen at the Llanymynech river gauge as a result of Storm Debi.
“Consequently, the risk of flooding remains.
“We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from the Welsh border at Llawnt to Shrawardine near Shrewsbury.
“Other locations that may be affected include Llanymynech, Maesbrook and Melverley. Predicted peaks:- Llanymynech 3.3m to 3.8m this afternoon.

“Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours.
“We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services.
