AROUND three people have been treated for injuries after a chemical spill on the Oswestry Industrial Estate on Wednesday, according to eye-witnesses.

Shropshire firefighters are currently cleaning up another spill in the town, less than 24 hours after Mile End Roundabout was brought to a halt for a similar incident.

The incident is reported to have happened close to the junction near Munchies Diner and P&B Tyres, on the estate, and firefighters are completing the clean-up job.

Border Counties Advertizer:

One staff member from Munchies Diner told The Advertizer that people had come into contact with the spill and that people had been told they could not move their cars.

They said: "There were firefighters and people in protective suits.

"It happened outside us here at the diner.

"The people who first did the clean-up were all wearing hazmat suits but they have gone, and it's the firefighters who are there now.

"It was something to do with a chemical spill and we think three people have been treated by the ambulances there because they came into contact with it.

"There were three fire engines and ambulances.

"We've been feeding the people on the estate who can't leave."
