Gobowen's hospital has announced it is on the search for a new director with expertise in finance.

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) confirmed it was searching for a new non-executive director to help form its strategy over the next few years.

Non-executive directors help provide scrutiny and challenge the executive directors – who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Gobowen-based hospital.

Trust chairman Frank Collins said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a suitable financial qualification to share their talents and expertise to make a positive difference to the lives of the communities we serve.

“We are seeking a values-driven leader with a genuine commitment to patients who has an excellent track record of achievement, within either the public or private sector.

"The post holder will also be the chairman of our Audit Committee, hence the need for someone with financial or audit experience.

“This new appointment will complement the skills and expertise of our existing executive and non-executive directors, as well as providing an opportunity to develop a more diverse representation of the board of directors.”
