MEMBERS of staff from a local company embarked on a physically demanding journey to raise funds for The Movement Centre.

On Father's Day, the Ocean Telecom staff they cycled 10 miles, hiked up the towering Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), and canoed across the serene waters of Llyn Padarn.

The Movement Centre aims to provide support for children facing movement difficulties and their families.

Jeremy Rose, the owner of Ocean Telecom, acknowledged the immense challenge they faced.

He said: “It was a really tough challenge, with all of us suffering for a few days after the event, but was totally worthwhile as we were supporting the work that goes on at The Movement Centre.”

Ocean Telecom, which has a long-standing presence in Oswestry for 26 years, has been overwhelmed by the support received from their customers in their endeavor to raise funds for this meaningful cause.

To date, they have raised over £3,500, with donations still pouring in.

Jeremy further explained: “When I met with the fundraiser at The Movement Centre we discussed various challenges for us to take on, but I wanted something different than our previous, which was completing the Three Peak Challenge.

“This alternative triathlon was just the challenge for us.”

The Movement Centre plays a vital role in providing free therapy for children with movement difficulties.

Consequently, support from local businesses like Ocean Telecom has become increasingly crucial to the organization's continued success.

Curtis Langley, a Fundraiser at The Movement Centre, expressed his gratitude, and said: “Raising funds and awareness has become even more important for us over the last six to eight months.

“When I met with Jeremy, he told me he wanted a challenge for the team, but I didn’t realise they were going to think this much outside the box.

“It was a great challenge for them to take on, and we can’t thank them enough for their kind support.”
