Last Sunday saw rugby resume for the girls teams of Oswestry Rugby club after the Easter break. The pitches were drying up after the recent rain and with the sun shining the girls were keen to get out and play some rugby.

The u-15s teamed up with Leigh to take on a powerful team from Nant Conwy. The visitors started strongly and with some excellent team play built a healthy lead by half time of 0-26. The team of Oswestry/Leigh though were starting to gel and never gave up and fought back into the match with three second half tries before Nant Conwy responded towards the end to finally win Oswestry/Leigh 17, Nant Conwy 48.

The Oswestry u-18s were playing against a team of Leigh/Port Sunlight and knew that it was going to be a close, competitive match.

Oswestry scored first through captain Megan Bowyer and hoped to build a lead but the first half was very close with both teams scoring three tries and with great pressure being applied by both teams the score was level at half time 19-19.

All to play for in the second half and it carried on as a very close physical match with scores being traded. Going into the last 15 minutes with the scores still level the Oswestry girls u-18s team got stronger and stronger and applied more pressure to the opposition to score two final tries to win the game which finished Oswestry 38, Leigh/Port Sunlight 26
