Oswestry Team Tennis' 14 and under girls team kicked off their Aegon tournament season with a win.
With a squad of four girls but only two players required for each match, it was Millie Parsons Hann and Ella Long who represented the club for this opening fixture away against Boughey Gardens Tennis Club, Newport.
Ella played out an epic single’s rubber against Amy Dean, coming back from having lost the first set 6-3 to win the second set 6-2 and take it to a third set tie-break, where she was unfortunate to finally lose out.
Millie had a terrific victory in her single’s rubber, winning it without conceding a game – 6-0, 6-0.
The match deciding rubber was the doubles rubber where Ella and Millie proved too strong of a pairing for their opponents winning convincingly by the score of 6-1, 6-2.
