Oswestry 93 all out beat Barnards Green 79 all out by 14 runs

Oswestry pulled off a remarkable 14 run win over Barnards Green in the Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League in Malvern on Saturday.

No less than six teenagers were named in the side with Tommy Bromage making his first team debut as the visitors named one of their youngest ever sides

Oswestry made the worse possible start, losing skipper Warrick Fynn to the third ball of the day to Phil Harris (2-25) .

Fellow opener Josh Darley hung around as wickets tumbled around him and Oswestry were reduced to 53-4 when Darley (13) was finally caught off the bowling of Zahid Kafiat .

Josh Coleridge stood firm, crashing 46 off 50 balls which included seven fours and a six before being trapped LBW by James Dovey (4-6) with Zain Ul Hussan (3-37) also claiming wickets as Oswestry fell for 93 in the 30th over

Alex Selby dismissed Worcestershire player George Rhodes for 20 as Oswestry made the initial breakthrough in reply .

The home side progressed to 60-3 and seemed well on course for a comfortable victory before a remarkable turn around of events.

Fynn (5-3) and Selby (5-43) dominated to complete the home side's collapse for 79 in the 21st over.

The Morda Road side's tally of 51 points in the last three games has lifted them out of the bottom two and will provide fresh optimism as Fynn and his men enter the second half of the season .
