The New Saints have completed the signing of striker Declan McManus.

The 26-year-old arrives in Oswestry from Scottish Championship side, Dunfermline Athletic FC in a £60,000 deal and follows quickly in the footsteps of defender Danny Davies who joined from Connah's Quay Nomads last week.

McManus has past experience at Ross County Alloa Athletic, Falkirk, Greenock Morton and Raith Rovers in Scotland and Fleetwood Town in the English League.

McManus is also a former Scotland Under 21 international.

Signing a two-year deal with The New Saints, the club’s head coach, Anthony Limbrick, said: “We’ve been watching Declan for a while now and are delighted to finally get the deal over the line.

"We really think he’ll strengthen our forward line, and give us different options at the top of the pitch. More importantly though, he’s a good character who will work hard for the team.”

Meanwhile McManus was delighted to be joining the JD Cymru Premier club.

He said: “I’m delighted to be here and really looking forward to the big challenges ahead, both personally and collectively, in Europe and also trying to get the club back to the top of the JD Cymru Premier.

"I came here with the hope of winning trophies, and helping the club progress on the European stage, and hopefully I can score the goals that can help the club and the team achieve that.

"Once the clubs had agreed a fee, and I had the opportunity to speak with the head coach and chairman, it very quickly became an easy decision for me to sign.

"Their ambition was really impressive and matches my own. I know the club has a great history and I’m looking forward to helping add to that during my time here.”

However Adam Roscrow's has been farmed out to rivals Cardiff Metropolitan.

The forward joined the club from AFC Wimbledon at the start of the year but struggled to make an impact in 11 appearances and has now rejoined Cardiff Met on a season long loan deal.
