MORDA United Football Club have secured a sponsorship deal with local businessman Mike Philbin which will see their home ground named Weston Pools Park.

The Salop Leisure League One club hailed the latest deal which follows new kit sponsorships.

A spokesman for the club said: "We have ambitious plans as a club moving forward and when Mike got in touch with him being a local business owner with a business just a stone's throw away we discussed potential routes of sponsor which is where the ground naming came up."

The deal will see Weston Road renamed Weston Pools Park as the Yellows return to league action following four months of inactivity.

Mike Philbin added: "Being a football fan myself it's great to see the club back up and running.

"I sponsored the team a few years ago with a kit and wanted to do something more to help the club sustain their future and so I'm looking forward to watching the side at Weston Pools Park for years to come/"

The club also thankful of two other major sponsors secured during lockdown with the new home strip sponsored by Furrows of Oswestry and the away strip by Reclaim Tax Wales.

The club restart their season next week at Telford Amateurs before two consecutive home games where spectators will be allowed.
