Oswestry Cricket Club have completed a double signing.

The Birmingham League club have welcomed the arrival of Newtown all rounder Dave Laird and batsman Ryan Lockley from Halesowen

Laird's departure is a blow for his hometown club having played a key role for the mid Wales club since returning from a six year spell at Sentinel in 2019.

Lockley is also a community cricket officer with the Shropshire Cricket Board, under 11 county boys assistant coach and under 12 and 13 county boys lead coach and manager.

A club spokesman said: "The club look forward to seeing two ambitious and talented cricketers on show for both club and county next year at the Stonehouse Oval."

Laird added: "I an so excited to be joining Oswestry Cricket Club and can’t wait to join up with the boys and get started."
