ELLESMERE Rangers' testing start to the North West Counties South League season continued with a 4-0 defeat at Cheadle Town.
The match was over as a contest by the break with Pat Davin, Max Greenhalgh and Liam Moran netting before Davin settled the outcome late in the second-half.
Meanwhile St Martins crashed to a heavy 8-0 defeat at home to Wythenshawe Town.
Matty Bryan netted a hat-trick with Steve Yarwood bagging a brace while goals from Brad Byrne, Matt Rowson and Darius Palma completed the rout.
Elsewhere Gobowen Celtic celebrated a 4-3 win at Madeley Sports in the Salop League.
Jack Hughes starred with a double while Ben Pierpoint and George Hughes goals ensured the spoils while Shaun Davies netted twice and Jon Matthews was also on target for the Telford hosts.
