Alberbury 179-9 beat Knockin 128 all out by 51 runs

ALBERBURY made light work of Knockin with a 51 run victory at Pecknall Farmin divison one of the Shropshire League.

The home side lost Michael Crawshaw early, caught by Rhys Williams off Tom Breese (1-43) for 18, while Lara Jones and Jordan Zaza both departed cheaply to Shaun Davis.

Surviving opener Dominic Zaza was finally removed, caught by Jak Jones for a top scoring 46 to complete Davis' 3-25.

Matthew Bevan (21) and Ieuan Griffiths (24) led the middle order before both falling to Owen Washington who completed his 3-25 with Lawrence Fletcher caught by Davis for a duck.

Sam Morris was run out for 18 before Oliver Corbett was toppled by Robert Ford (1-24) for 16 to leave Myles Thomas (12no) to steer Alberbury to 179 to defend.

Knockin were on the ropes from the start of their reply with opener Joe Kynaston run out by Jordan Zaza for seven before Morris (2-22) celebrated two successive ducks with Lawrence Hitchin and Williams caught by Crawshaw.

Opener Jack Jones fell to James Bird (1-25) for 15 before Thomas (3-35) eroded the middle order with Luke Beckett (13), James Birch (13) and Ford (7) departing.

Jordan Zaza celebrated the removal of Davis, stumped by Crawshaw for 14, before Breese was caught by Bird off Zaza (2-11) for a top scoring 51 to complete Knockin's demise for 128.
