LLANIDLOES’ testing start to the North Wales League Two season continued with a 26-10 defeat at home to Bangor.
Bangor punished their hosts for a sluggish start with an early try from Andy Baston and further tries from Dyfed Roberts and Tom Belt with two conversions from Steffan Owen left Llanidloes with a mountain to climb.
Bangor secured their bonus point with a try from James Andrews, converted by Owen, early in the second-half.
Llanidloes rallied with fly-half Rob Evans crossing for a try before a deft cross field kick from Tom Morgan released wing Carwyn Williams to go over for a try.
However it was not enough for Llanidloes as Bangor comfortably saw out the game to make the long home trip to North Wales with the points.
