The Oswestry Olympians gathered at the Oswestry Cricket Club recently to relax after another busy season and enjoy the Seniors’ Presentation evening.

The evening provided an opportunity to recognise individual and team achievements over the past 18 months and also to thank those who provide support and significant contribution to the running of the club.

Awards were presented by new club chairman Steve Barnfield.

The Rose Bowl Awards went to Peter Butler-Jones and Ali Lavender for the combined best times over 5k,10k and half marathon distances, while Lavender also won the ladies cross country series and 5k handicap, and Butler-Jones took the men’s marathon win.

Lou Williams won the accolade of Multi-Sport Performance of the Year, while Steve Roberts and Lee Barnfield were also recognised for their achievements in this category, and Simon Barkley was a multiple award-winner, finishing first in the men’s 5k and 10k handicap, as well as third places in the men’s half marathon and full marathon categories.

Mike Kirk - Coaches’ Recognition Award and 2nd men’s marathon; Tom Heard - 1st men’s cross country and fastest half marathon; Charlotte Jones - 2nd ladies Rose Bowl, 2nd cross country, 1st half marathon, 3rd 5k, 3rd 10k; Viv McConnell - 1st ladies’ 10k, 2nd 5k; Louise Woolcock - 3rd ladies’ Rose Bowl, 3rd cross country; Jenny Davis - 3rd ladies’ half marathon; Julie Davies - 3rd ladies’ marathon; Jon Hancock - 2nd men’s 5k and 3rd 10k; Oli Blake - 2nd men’s Rose Bowl; Nick Blake - 3rd men’s 5k; Tim Tansley - 2nd men’s 10k and 2nd half marathon; Tom Wilde - 2nd men’s cross country.
