The New Saints's solid pre-season from continued on Tuesday with a thumping win over Welsh Premier League rivals Barry Town United.

They were back on the goal trail too as they racked top six against the side who were in contention for the title until the dying embers of the season.

Both sides are preparing for their European adventures, so the game was played at a high tempo and it was Jamie Mullan who gave the Saints the lead in the 28th minute.

There were a flurry of quick substitutions but Adrian Cieslewicz doubled TNS's lead on 36 minutes, although Kayne Mclaggan halved the lead two minutes before the break.

Kurtis Byrne made it 3-1 in the 57th minute before further changes were made, including assistant manager Steve Evans playing a final half hour.

Byrne doubled his tally for the evening in the 72nd minute and a few minutes later, Billy Whitehouse _ enjoying his first full pre-season with TNS – added a fifth.

Harry Bower, who signed professional terms in the summer, added a sixth in the dying moments to complete a far better workout for the Saints than the weekend before where they ran up a baker's dozen of goals.

Saints will welcome another European hopeful in Cardiff Met at Park Hall, with kick-off at 2.15pmand admission is free.
