A PUPIL at an Oswestry school is set to represent one of the country’s most successful football clubs overseas.
Poppy Kendrick-Jones, a Year 7 student at Oswestry School, has been selected by Liverpool Ladies Regional Talent Club (RTC) to travel to Germany for a football tournament.
Poppy will travel to Germany to play in the under-12 tournament, where she hopes to gain valuable experience at international level.
As a player for the RTC, the youngster receives structured and progressive football coaching within the Liverpool FC centre from some of the best youth coaches.
The RTC has 60 talented footballers and teams within the U10, U12, U14 and U16 categories.
Director of sport at Oswestry School, Dominic Bradburne, said: “Poppy is an immensely talented footballer and we are delighted that she has joined Oswestry School.
“She recently joined the boys U13 team in a game against Packwood Haugh and was the stand-out player on the pitch.
“We are looking forward to supporting Poppy in her football as she progresses through Liverpool FC.”
