THE NEW SAINTS go into next week’s Europa League campaign in confident mood after a sensational performance at Park Hall last night.
Trailing 5-0 after the first leg against KF Sjkendija, their Champions League ambitions seemed dead and buried.
But they shocked their visitors by winning 4-0 – and had opportunities to take the match into extra time and create European history with the biggest comeback in the competition’s history.
Now, though, Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar lie in wait in the Europa League next week.
Ruscoe wants to see the same kind of performance.
“We’ve got to replicate that level next week against Lincoln Red Imps because there would be nothing worse than grabbing that result only to go next week and not do it,” he said.
“I know all about Red Imps because we’ve been watching them all week.
“We had to as that’s the next step – I’m an optimist but I’m also realistic.”
Ruscoe had rejected talk of a miracle in the build-up to the game but admitted once the goals started raining in, he got his hopes up – only to be dashed on a thrilling night.
