Oswestry Boys and Girls Football Club is bigger than ever.
The junior football club is now home to 26 teams ranging from crèche at four years old through to Under 16’s, totalling around 500 children and young people and one of the most successful junior clubs in the region.
Chairman John Breeze said: “Due to our ever growing size we have this year reached out to Oswestry College and Selattyn and Gobowen Parish Council who have kindly let us use their pitches for some of our games.

“Another thank you to our committee and sponsors for this year ensuring the clubs smooth running and making sure all of our teams are able to look the part and therefore, feel the part.
“It’s been a challenging season with the very wet winter we’ve had but our parents and players have all been amazing in supporting us with the rescheduling of games and training due to waterlogged pitches."
And the season is not over yet with the club set to host a tournament next month which will once again offer youngsters a showcase for their developing talents.
Mr Breeze added: "I’m personally looking forward to our upcoming football tournament on Sunday, July 7th which is set to be a great day just like our annual presentation was back at the start of June.
“Being able to get together and hand out awards to our young players is always a highlight, seeing how much they’ve grown and developed as a player.”
