The Mynydd Myfr Hill run returned after a two year absence earlier this month.

The four mile race along country lanes, farmland and wooded areas climbs around 500ft and was held as part of Trefonen Hill Walk Weekend.

More than 50 runners from Shropshire, the Midlands and Welsh borders took part.

The first man home was Tom Heard of Oswestry Olympians in 22:36.

There was a close battle between Neil Finegan of West Cheshire AC and Peter Middleton of Shrewsbury AC for to complete the podium.

The first lady home was Beth Rawlinson, a junior at Wolves and Bilston AC, in 25:54.

Charlotte Hunter and Georgie Jones, both of Oswestry Olympians, completed the podium.

Several Oswestry Olympians took part, including Paul Sissons who ended fifth overall and first in the men's over 40s class in 24:03 while Tim Tansley was sixth and first in the over 45s in 25:13.

Peter Jones ended eighth in 24:59 while Evan Roberts' was 11th in 25:31.

Brian Rothera was 18th in 27:06 and Ian Lowe was fourth in 27:47 with Arren Roberts 24th in 29:16 and Neil Wilkinson 28th in 30:37.

Meanwhile Nicola Shipp was 21st and first in the over 45s women's race in 28:20 while George Jones was 23rd in 28:43.

Julie Davies ended in 29th spot in 30:38 while Sara Robinson was 40th in 36:35 ahead of Yvonne Humphries in 44th with a time of 40:05 and Sarah Greaves who ended 45th and won the over 65s women's race in 40:06.
