A POPULAR group in Ellesmere is will be welcoming a Chester-based demonstrator for their March meeting at the town hall.

Ellesmere and District Flower Club will be meeting on Thursday, March 2022 at 7.30pm in Ellesmere Town Hall when NAFAS Cheshire Area demonstrator and floral designer Dawn Weaver from Chester will demonstrate 'Wildwood'.

Dawn, who is a popular and exciting designer/demonstrator returns for an evening not to be missed, and any visitors wishing to attend are charged of £5 on the door.

Returning members who paid their subscription in 2020 need only pay £10 for this year while new members wishing to join pay only £3 for 10 meetings.

All are most welcome.

Meanwhile, the club held its second meeting of the year on Thursday, February 24 in Ellesmere Town Hall when chairman Sylvia Williams welcomed members and visitors to an evening of floral delights with Andrew Lloyd.

A spokesman said:"He is a NAFAS area demonstrator from Stourbridge.

"Andrew who is also an experienced florist is no stranger to the club and on this occasion his demonstration was titled 'Spring Awakening' which with its array of colour definitely gave an uplifting insight into the creative use of all the delights of spring flowers and foliages.

"A most welcome and enjoyable evening was had by all."

He was thanked by Kate Edwards and the hostess for the evening was programme secretary Ruth Clarke.

Chairman Sylvia reminded members of the current job vacancies arising following the recent AGM and invited volunteers to come forward.

Members were also asked to support their sales table throughout the year by bringing suitable produce, plants and gifts, plus the Committee will be discussing the 60th anniversary plans at their next meeting on Wednesday, March 16.

Also a national demonstration not to be missed at Telford Hotel and Golf Resort on Saturday, April 23 at 2pm.

'The Sound of Colour' by Angela Turner an inspirational floral designer and national demonstrator, a teacher renown for her large scale Cathedral designs.
