Oswestry Olympian Ali Lavender ran a superb personal best when she competed in Sunday’s Berlin Marathon.

Ali, who is now based on Sale, has been achieving some amazing times this year and maintained that form in Germany with a fine performance.

In Berlin she ran an even paced race that enabled her to finish as the first British female, 18th female overall and sixth in her age category.

As a bonus she smashed her own club record with a time of 02:38:34.

A spokesman for Oswestry Olympians Athletics Club said: “Everyone in Oswestry Olympians are very proud of Ali’s achievements.”
