The Park Hall 5k came back with a bang as almost 160 runners hit the road in the first Oswestry Olympians organised race to be held for nearly 18 months.
There was a real buzz of excitement as athletes from north Wales, north west England, Shropshire and the Midlands as well as many local runners all relishing the opportunity to compete once again.
There were some excellent times recorded on a warm summers evening.
Matthew Collins won the race, finishing 31 seconds outside the 1999 course record of Will Levett, while the first lady Ali Lavender who was 19 seconds off the 2003 course record of Karrie Hawitt.
Most of all everyone finished with a smile on their face, happy to be racing again.
Congratulations also to category winners Beth Jones who won the junior ladies race, Andrea Nowell who won the women's over 45s category, Tania Brandon who won the women's over 55s category and Ellen Harrison who topped the women's over 65s class.
