Llanidloes hosted the latest round of the ACU British Enduro Championship last weekend.

The Hafren Two Day Enduro attracted a near capacity entry for the start held at Llanidloes RFC grounds. The course included a motocross style test then followed by features in Hafren Forest and a cross country style enduro test on fields and woods of Glynhafren farm where most of the pit crews spent the day refuelling more than 180 riders.

The event was won overall by Welshpool rider Joe Wootton on a 450 Husqvarna while Dan Mundell was runner up aboard a Honda 250 with Tom Sagar from Oswestry claiming the final podium step aboard a 450 Husqvarna.

The organising Hafren Dirt Bike club did an outstanding job organising the event safety was paramount with Covid rules in place.

The event also represented a welcome return to action for many enduro riders having seen their 2020 activities all but wiped out by the global health crisis and lockdown restrictions.
