STAFF at an independent school outside Oswestry have confirmed that pupils have been asked to self-isolate after positive Covid-19 results were recorded.

The positive result was recorded at Moreton Hall – in Weston Rhyn – last week after Covid tests for the unnamed year group.

However, the school confirmed that education on site continues as normal for other year groups who are in their own bubbles.

A spokesman said: "After the presence of positive Covid tests in one year group last week, Moreton Hall, working in close consultation with Shropshire Health Protection Team and Public Health England, continues to take every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our pupils, staff and extended community.

"Close contacts have been identified and are now self isolating.

"Because Moreton Hall has been operating in secure year group bubbles, unaffected year groups are continuing with their education as normal, while those self isolating have moved to online learning."
