PUPILS at Lakelands Academy have been collecting food donations for those in need in Shropshire.

The Year 10 pupils were involved in the Prince's Trust Achieve Programme and successfully collected 275g of food to donate to the Oswestry and Ellesmere Foodbank in order to support the community during the long summer holidays.

Liz Jermy, manager of the Foodbank was delighted with the donation which was presented by the youngsters at the academy on Monday.

She said: "This has made a real difference to us this week as we have full shelves thanks to you.

"A big thank you goes out to all the pupils, parents, carers and staff who contributed."
