The works began at Pentrebychan Crematorium on September 12 and are expected to be completed by October 27.
They include the installation of a new footway and access road, as well as resurfacing works outside the site.
Work on the new footway and access road is expected to be finished by September 21.
This will then be followed by resurfacing of the highway outside the crematorium, with preparation works taking place from October 17 to 18 and completion of the resurfacing works taking place from October 24 to 27.
The works have been coordinated to coincide with the planned crematorium shutdown period to help minimise disruption.

"Prentrebychan Crematorium is a place visited by many people at particularly important and sensitive times, so we want to ensure the surrounding environment is safe, accessible and well maintained.
"We appreciate everyone’s patience while these improvements are carried out.”
Access to the crematorium grounds, office and Book of Remembrance will remain available throughout the works for anyone wishing to visit.
