CHIRK Cricket Club celebrated their stars of 2021 with a presentation evening earlier this month.

Andrew Swarbrick dominated the awards, winning the Henshalls Shropshire League Division One plater of the year award as well as the club’s first team bowling and batting accolades.

Swarbrick received his award from representatives of sponsor Terry’s Autos in Chirk.

Meanwhile Liam Walker was named young player of the year and received his award from Dale Randall, representative of main sponsor Heat Source Energy Solutions.

Ian Skinner won the champagne moment of the year award while while Connor Bailey won the batting award for the second team and Steve Connors went home with the bowling award.

Meanwhile the Colliers will begin their 2022 season at home to Wellington IIs on April 23.

The club travel to Bomere Heath the following week before returning home to welcome Chelmarsh on May 7 with trips to Worfield IIs and Shrewsbury IIs before completing their May programme at home to Bridgnorth IIs on May 28.

Meanwhile the club’s second string open their division six campaign at Beacon IIs on April 23.

Bomere Heath IIs will provide their first home test a week later before beginning May at Ludlow IIIs.

Chirk IIs also host Coton Hall and Montgomery IIs before completing May at Willey IIs.
