TWO Wrexham players would have benefitted from having a breather more than others during the international break.
A total of seven members of Phil Parkinson's first-team squad were involved in all eight Championship games this season heading into the three-week hiatus.
However, only Callum Doyle and Anthony Patterson started every one of those matches.
Indeed, centre-back Doyle is the only player who has been named in the side for every fixture in 2026-27 as he also started the 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough in the League Cup first round which kicked off the 2026-27 campaign, with goalkeeper Patterson completing his move from Sunderland a few days later.
Captain Dominic Hyam and midfielder Ben Whiteman have both made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the league, closely followed by Kieffer Moore and Lewis O'Brien who have featured in every game with six starts and two run-outs off the bench.
However, there's been no chance to recharge the batteries for Moore, who is the Reds' top scorer with three goals, as he has been away on international duty with Wales and played in the Nations League fixtures,
Sam Smith, in the side for two matches and a sub on six occasions, is the other player Wrexham player who has took part in all eight league games.
Matty James has had seven run-outs so far, with four starts and three appearances as a replacement, while Zak Vyner (5+1), Jacques Ekomie (5+1), Danny Imray (5+1), Oliver Rathbone (4+2), Issa Kabore (3+3) and Ryan Longman (1+5) have been involved in six of the eight league matches.
It could have been more for Imray and Rathbone who were absent before the international break due to injury while Ekomie and Kabore - who have been away on international duty with Gabon and Burkina Faso respectively - arrived at The Racecourse after the start of the campaign.

Josh Windass missed the start of the season through injury and he has featured five times (3+2).
Parkinson used 24 players in the first eight games but one of those - Davis Keillor-Dunn, with one substitute appearance to his name - joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan before the transfer window closed.
Danny Ward, who has played all four games for Wales while on Nations League duty, hasn't played in the league but he was between the posts for the League Cup defeat at Middlesbrough before Patterson signed.
