Police say a group of teenagers will be spoken to after complaints that younger children were being intimidated at a pump track in Ellesmere.

Oswestry and Ellesmere Police said local residents had raised concerns with the Safer Neighbourhood Team about behaviour at the facility.

According to the force, a group of teenage youths have been regularly gathering at the track and there were reports they had been telling younger children to leave, claiming it belonged to them.

Police said the identities of those involved had been provided to officers and that the individuals concerned would be spoken to about their behaviour.

In a statement, the Safer Neighbourhood Team said such behaviour was "entirely unacceptable" and reminded users that the pump track is a public facility for the whole community.

The team said everyone is entitled to use the track provided they follow the rules and show consideration and respect towards others.

Anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour or has concerns about the use of the facility is encouraged to report the matter to the local Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The appeal was issued by Oswestry and Ellesmere Police on Sunday.

The copy does not say when the reported incidents occurred.
