A potter, TV star and storyteller is set to captivate audiences during an evening of clay, conversation and history.

Keith Brymer Jones, best known as a judge on Channel 4’s Great Pottery Throwdown, will appear in Oswestry on October 6 to share stories from his career and discuss his new book, Firing Earth.

Firing Earth explores the world of pottery through a deeply personal lens, blending history, anecdotes and reflections on the art of ceramics.

He will guide the audience on a journey from Roman kilns in North London to urinals in Scotland.

His talk will reveal surprising historical facts—such as the potter’s wheel predating all other wheels and Royal Doulton’s origins as a sewage pipe manufacturer—and showcase the ways ceramics have shaped cultures around the world.

Organisers described the evening as a "hugely enjoyable event" and encouraged fans to take advantage of the opportunity to hear Mr Brymer Jones speak.

They said: "Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to see and meet Keith Brymer Jones and hear his stories 'live' in Oswestry."

The event at The Holroyd Community Theatre, Oswestry, will begin at 7.00pm (doors 6.15pm).
