Every Year 7 student at Lakelands Academy received a free book from the Rotary Books4Home initiative.
The project, organised by Rotarian Beverley Ricketts, saw each student with a new read as they enjoyed the break.
All the books were delivered by Jenny Davies, chairman of Youth Services.
Helen Gordon, the school's librarian, said: "It has been lovely sending our students away for the summer holidays with a brand new book to read."
Lakelands Academy expressed thanks for the donation.
Ellesmere Rotary said they are delighted to be able to work with a secondary school to promote reading for pleasure.
