Firefighters were called to two separate fires, including a shed blaze that spread to an oil tank and nearby woodland, during a busy day for Ellesmere Fire Station crews.
The most serious incident happened at 7.33 pm on Saturday, July 25, when firefighters were mobilised to a shed fire in the Sweeney area of Oswestry.
According to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, the fire involved a domestic shed, an oil tank, and a small area of woodland.
Two fire appliances from Ellesmere attended the scene, with crews using hose reel jets and beaters to bring the fire under control.
Assistance was also provided by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
A service log stated: "Fire involving one domestic shed and oil tank, and small area of woodland.
"Crews used hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish the fire."
Earlier building fire
Earlier in the day, at 11.42 am, Ellesmere firefighters were called to reports of a building fire.
The crew used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
Ellesmere Fire Station said: "At 11.42 the Ellesmere crew were mobilised to a building fire.
"Crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and cool other buildings in close proximity."
Smoke alert proved to be false alarm
Firefighters were then mobilised again at 3.59 pm following reports of a smell of smoke in the area.
However, after carrying out a thorough search, the incident was confirmed to be a false alarm.
The fire station said: "At 15.59 the Ellesmere crew were mobilised to a smell of smoke in the area.
"This incident was confirmed as a false alarm, good intent, after a thorough search."
The three call-outs meant a busy Saturday for Ellesmere crews, with firefighters responding to incidents ranging from a building fire to a woodland blaze within the space of just a few hours.
