Former world boxing champion Joe Calzaghe is set to appear in Oswestry this autumn.
He will take part in a special evening event at the Lion Quays Resort on Saturday, October 10.
Organised by former Midlands champion and world title challenger Roddy Doran, the event will give fans a chance to meet the Welsh boxing legend and hear stories from his unbeaten 46-fight career.
Doran said: "Richie was in the fight and then Joe went up a gear.
"Great fighters can do that.
"Joe is a true boxing legend."
The night will also include insights from Joe Calzaghe’s former promoter, Frank Warren, who described him as “our best ever”.
Mr Warren said: "He had such a good work rate, was so skilful, had a great chin and he could punch.
"People say he slapped.
"He knocked out a lot of people with those slaps."
The evening will reflect on the 20th anniversary of Calzaghe’s famed victory over Jeff Lacy, one of British boxing’s greatest nights, where he landed 1,006 punches in a super-middleweight unification bout.
Calzaghe also successfully defended his world title against Telford’s Richie Woodhall.
