More than 100 guests gathered at Tyn Dwr Hall to support Nightingale House Hospice during a successful community fundraiser which raised an impressive £2,900.
The afternoon tea event, organised jointly by the hospice’s Llangollen and Chirk community fundraising groups, took place on Wednesday, April 29, at the spectacular Grade II listed hall nestled in the scenic Dee Valley.
With sunshine bathing the grounds of the historic venue, guests arrived to a warm welcome from volunteers and organisers before enjoying tea and coffee served throughout the afternoon.
Tables were soon filled with a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade cakes and traditional scones, creating a classic afternoon tea atmosphere inside the popular wedding and events venue.
Entertainment was provided by jazz and swing singer Jack Graeme, whose live performance helped lift the mood even further as guests relaxed and enjoyed the event.
A raffle was also held during the afternoon, featuring a range of prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters from across the area.
Organisers say the fundraiser highlighted the strength of community spirit in Llangollen and Chirk, with local businesses, volunteers and supporters all coming together to help raise money for the hospice.
The Chair of the Llangollen Community Fundraising Group said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported this wonderful community fundraiser and helped make it such a success.
“A special thank you to the marvellous team at Tyn Dwr Hall for hosting us, and to Jack Graeme for keeping everyone entertained and bringing joy throughout the afternoon.
“Events like this shine a light on what our community can achieve together.”
The £2,900 raised from the event will go directly towards supporting the work of Nightingale House Hospice, which provides free specialist palliative and end-of-life care for patients and families across the region.

Organisers said the event would not have been possible without the support of the venue and local businesses, including Tipples Catering Hire, which provided cake stands for the afternoon tea.
Members of both the Llangollen and Chirk community fundraising groups were also praised for the work they put into organising the successful event.
Nightingale House Hospice relies heavily on fundraising events, donations and volunteer support to continue delivering its services to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families across North East Wales and the border counties.
