Shropshire firefighters tackle barn fire in challenging conditions

Shropshire Fire and Rescue have sent teams from Oswestry, Ellesmere and Baschurch to tackle a barn fire near Selattyn.

Fire crews were called to the fire earlier this morning (April 30) and have been faced with “challenging conditions”.

Photos shared by Oswestry Fire Station show that crews have had to source the water to tackle the fire from a nearby stream.

In an update online a spokesperson for Oswestry Fire Station said: “Oswestry, Ellesmere and Baschurch Fire Stations are currently at a Barn Fire near Selattyn, Oswestry.

“Crews currently pumping from open water and now damping down after the fire started around 08:40 this morning.”

“All crews have worked extremely hard in challenging conditions.”
