Kronospan has confirmed that no one was injured in the fire that broke out at their Chirk factory on Sunday.
Fire crews from both sides of the border were called to the scene after reports of a “dust explosion” at the site at Maesgwyn Farm.
A spokesperson for Kronospan confirmed the fire broke out after an incident at 4pm yesterday (Sunday, April 26) afternoon.

This saw a six-pump fire crew response from Shropshire and North Wales to tackle the fire for several hours into the evening.
Kronospan has confirmed no one was injured in the incident and that an investigation is now underway into the cause of the fire.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Kronospan can confirm that an incident occurred at our Chirk facility shortly after 4pm on Sunday 26th April, which was supported by units from the Fire Service and quickly brought under control.
“Our primary concern is the safety and wellbeing of our staff, and we can confirm that there were no injuries resulting from the incident.
“Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause.”
