Customers were evacuated from an Ellesmere pub on Saturday afternoon after a fire broke out in an extractor unit in the kitchen.
Two fire crews were called out, from Ellesmere and Oswestry, after the fire broke out in the kitchen of the Red Lion Hotel just before 3pm on Saturday (April 25).
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service described the incident as a "small fire within an extractor unit in a commercial kitchen".
Crews used one dry powder extinguisher and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire. An operations officer was also present at the scene.
A statement on Ellesmere Fire Station's Facebook page read: "The crew would like to praise the management for their actions in suppressing the fire and evacuation of staff and patrons before our arrival."
In its own post online, the hotel thanked firefighters, and said that it would be back open on Sunday with a "limited menu" thanks to the quick actions of staff and crews.
