Victoria Pendleton is set to visit Oswestry for an evening to mark the release of her latest book.
The Olympic cycling gold medallist will be at The Holroyd Community Theatre on Tuesday, May 19, at 7pm.
Pendleton's new book, The Fear Opportunity, focuses on reframing fear to gain self-confidence and handle anxiety.
The book is described as clear and practical, detailing how small, everyday challenges can be the key to personal growth.
Drawing from her own experiences, the cycling legend shares insights and lessons from her career, which saw her clinch multiple medals.
Since retiring from cycling, Pendleton has tackled various challenges, including training as a jump jockey, despite having little riding experience, and attempting to climb Everest.
In The Fear Opportunity, she illustrates how these lessons can be applied to daily life.
The book also includes contributions from neuroscientists, researchers, and psychologists.
The event offers fans a chance to meet Pendleton and hear her story.
Pendleton's remarkable career includes being a nine-time world champion and the first cyclist to become the Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year.
After retiring from cycling, she trained as a jump jockey, successfully competing at Cheltenham.
She has also participated in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, attempted to climb Everest, and traversed a high wire over the London Olympic Stadium.
The Fear Opportunity is Pendleton's first book in 15 years.
It provides insights into how people can benefit from viewing everyday fears as opportunities and learning to use stress responses positively.
Tickets for the event are priced at £19, which includes admission for one and a signed book, or £29 for two people with one signed book.
Doors will open at 6.15pm.
