A circus-themed extravaganza is heading to a small Shropshire village for the 15th winter production, bringing together more than 60 villagers.
Set to take place at the Welshampton Parish Hall on February 20, 21, and 22, the original production, Captain Blizzard’s Circus Fantasia, has been specifically written by Oswestry playwright and actor, Shaun Higgins, for the Welshampton Bonfire Committee's pantomime team.
The production involves local musicians, artists, performers, and creators coming together to make the spectacle come to life for the community.
Each production has involved people from all areas of the small village, making it a true whole-community experience.
Creative mastermind Shaun Higgins, who is both writer and director, has been involved in more than 40 productions over the past decade, ranging from Shakespeare to pantomime.

He holds a master's degree in creative writing from Chester University and is currently studying for a PhD at Sheffield University.
Describing the show, he said: "A circus-themed spectacular with more than a dash of woodland creatures, this funny and original tale of friends, showmanship, and adventure is guaranteed to be an absolute blast."
The story follows Captain Blizzard, a heroic figure who, with his multi-talented circus troupe, combines "natural pizzazz" and "a touch of magic" to win over hostile villagers and outwit the beastly Bandersnatch.
The important message here is that "the show must go on," emphasised Mr. Higgins.
With fabulous sets, a live band, and terrific actors, Captain Blizzard’s Circus Fantasia will undoubtedly dazzle and delight audiences, making it a must-see for villagers and those from further afield.
There will be four shows – Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at 7.30pm and 2.30pm.
Tickets for this eagerly anticipated production will be released early in the new year.
People interested can find details on the Welshampton Bonfire Committee’s website and the 'Welshampton Bonfire Committee presents' Facebook page.
This production, which involves so much talent from the close-knit community, will surely uphold the village's long-standing tradition of heartwarming, laugh-inducing, and engaging shows.
Roll out the red carpet and get ready to welcome the circus to your doorstep this February.
