An Oswestry dad has been warned that he will be sent to prison if he doesn't pay almost £6,000 in unpaid child support within seven months.
Karl Nurse, 47, appeared in court on Tuesday (October 21) for not paying £5,896.38 towards child support.
Nurse, of Albert Road, admitted that he had been "burying his head in the sand" with the court-imposed payments.

Welshpool Magistrates' Court was told that the punishment for not paying for child support was a prison sentence of up to 42 days or a driving ban for up to two years.
Due to Nurse being dependant on his driving licence for work as a self-employed roofer, it was not suggested as a punishment.
The magistrates then decided to sentence Nurse to 42 days in prison for his culpable neglect but suspended it for seven months.

"That should be enough time for you to pay £1,000 a month," said Dr Rachel Jones, the chair of the magistrates' bench.
"You must pay £1,000 a month without fail otherwise it's prison."
Nurse was also ordered to pay £46 in court costs.
