TWO north Shropshire pubs will be taking part in a donation drive for advent calendars and selection boxes in the build-up to Christmas.
The community project is being organised by Proper Pubs, which is part of Admiral Taverns, for 24 of their hostelries to receive donations from patrons for the snack packs which will then be sent out to charities in the pubs’ areas.
The Boars Head in Willow Street, Oswestry, and Watergate, in Whitchurch, will be accepting donations.

“The pubs, which are part of Proper Pubs – the award-winning community wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns – are asking customers to drop off advent calendars to their local Proper Pub up until Sunday, November 24, before being donated to a host of local charities in need.
“Over the past two years, across its estate of more than 200 pubs, Proper Pubs has donated almost 40,000 Christmas selection boxes to local charities through the kind generosity of its community members.”
The donation drive will take place all over the West Midlands, from Whitchurch to Coventry and Nuneaton to Stoke-on-Trent.
