The Shropshire High Sheriff attended the September event at Ellesmere Repair Cafe.
Brian Welti, who lives in Ellesmere, was keen to understand the workings of the cafe.
After speaking with several volunteers, he announced his intention to bring items for repair to the monthly event.
The Repair Cafe is a free service, held on the first Saturday of every month from 1pm to 4pm.
A team of volunteers, skilled in various repair techniques, take on the task of fixing items.

Common repairs include clothing, small electrical items, wooden furniture, clocks, bikes, and pushchairs.
There are also volunteers who sharpen tools and one who specialises in jewellery repair.
The reception desk is manned by volunteers who handle any necessary admin work, while the catering team provides lunch for the fixers and tea and homemade cakes for visitors.
Donations are welcomed, with any surplus funds being donated to local community groups at Christmas.
Anne Wignall, a member of the organising team, said: "The repair cafe is a lovely place to relax and to meet or make friends.
"You don't need to have anything to repair - you can just turn up and enjoy free refreshments while chatting to other visitors."
