Therapeutic water exercises specifically designed for individuals with joint pain are now available at two Shropshire leisure centres.
The Quarry Swimming & Fitness Centre and Oswestry Leisure Centre, operated by Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, started offering the Good Boost classes from the start of this month.
The exercise programme, delivered via an app, allows for customised exercises to support individuals with varying Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions such as arthritis.
Key benefits highlighted by the programme include reducing discomfort and enhancing mobility.
The classes are offered in addition to the centres' regular offerings of swimming and fitness activities.
For booking and more information, residents are encouraged to visit the Shropshire Community Leisure Trust website.
Barbara Jones regularly attends Good Boost sessions, and is already seeing the results and said: "There’s a good variety of exercises and I’m now able to do exercises for both my shoulder and knee. I enjoy having a facilitator in the water supporting me.”
Mark Fergusson, another Good Boost class goer said: "I’m feeling much more positive about improving my mobility and enjoy the company of others doing their programmes in the water with me."
Wendy Marston, Community Development Lead for Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, added: "We are thrilled to see the growing interest in our Good Boost classes. Our mission is to make physical wellness accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The positive feedback from our participants is a testament to the effectiveness and appeal of our programme."
