A MAN has been handed a prison sentence after deliberately breaching a restraining order.
Oliver Homig, of no fixed abode, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court for sentence on Wednesday afternoon.
The 28-year-old, appearing on video link from prison, had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to breaching a restraining order.
Prosecutor Rhian Jackson told the court the six-year order, which is currently in place until 2030, prohibits Homig from contacting Victoria Hargreaves by any means and from entering any property occupied by her as a dwelling.
The breach of that order came about on May 25 this year.
Police were called to attend the Stanton House pub in Chirk on May 26.
They were informed by the landlady that the defendant and Ms Hargreaves had been drinking at the premises together the previous night.
Ms Jackson said they "drank heavily" - having had some 30 shots of spirits between them - and were arguing throughout the night.

Officers checked CCTV and confirmed they had been drinking together.
When interviewed, Homig made no comment, and no complaint was made by Ms Hargreaves - who had previously attempted to have the order revoked.
The order was put in place following a domestic assault, Ms Jackson added, and has already been breached once.
Gary Harvey, defending, told the court: "I think that's part of the problem - they just want to be together.
"Like a magnet, they get back together.
"She makes no complaint."
Mr Harvey said the defendant and Ms Hargreaves have a limited recollection of the night in question, owing to the amount of alcohol consumed.
He continued: "Alcohol plays a part in this relationship, but she hasn't been drinking for some time now and she'd determined that will remain the case.
"This is a deliberate breach, there's no doubt about that, but Ms Hargreaves will say there was no harm or distress caused."
The Magistrates handed down a 20 week custodial sentence and ordered Homig to pay £125 costs on his release.
