AN OPEN meeting will be held at Ellesmere town Hall tonight (Tuesday) to welcome expressions of interest for taking it over.
The meeting was called on the back of Ellesmere Town Council announcing last week that it intended to turn the management of the town hall over to a charity of Community Interest Company.
A spokesman for the town council confirmed that this decision was reached based on the feedback given in a consultation and at the last public meeting in May.

They added: “We have listened to all your comments about the future of Ellesmere Town Hall. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
“The resounding suggestion from the residents that attended the meeting, which was echoed in the consultation feedback, was to set up a CIC or charity trust to run and manage the town hall.
“Based on this suggestion the town council has agreed to explore this option and would like to invite interested people from our community to come forward to form a CIC (Community Interest Company) or Charity to run and manage the hall.”
The meeting will be held at 7pm and chaired by town mayor Councillor Graham Hutchinson.

There will be an explanation of what both potential options mean and then expressions of interest will be taken.
Meanwhile, a casual vacancy has arisen on the council after the resignation of Councillor Joan Mowl last week.
A 14-day period in which an election can be triggered must now observed – finishing on July 12 – before applications can be received by Ellesmere Town Council.
