A TREE stump on fire in a Powys village led to Oswestry firefighters being called out on Thursday afternoon.
One crew of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) firefighters from Oswestry made the short trip to Llanymynech at around 6.05pm after reports of the tree fire in Heritage Way.
A spokesman for SFRS confirmed that firefighters attended the scene.
They said: “Crews used a hosereel jet and thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.
“There were reports of a tree stump on fire – they used the imaging camera to check for hotspots.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control around 40 minutes later to confirm no further support was necessary.
