A new gated community of eight homes is to be built on the site of a former garage in north Shropshire.

This move was revealed by The Lingfield Group, who developed the idea of exclusive gated communities during the Covid pandemic.

The group identified Ellesmere as an ideal location for its fourth gated community concept.

Developed through its subsidiary Mere Holdings Ltd, the properties will be designed by the group’s ‘Safe and secure by design’ team.

Consisting of an estate of eight uniquely-designed and stylish, three-bedroom houses, they are located within walking distance of Ellesmere’s amenities.

Four of the houses are terraced, and the other four are semi-detached.

Mere Holdings Ltd purchased the site of former Scott’s Victoria Garage last year, where the houses are now being built.

The sought-after plots can be reserved via estate agent Halls for a £1,000 deposit, with the high-quality homes expected to be ready for occupation starting this autumn.

The houses are priced from £275,000 to £290,000.

Buyers can have the option to customise their property, such as adding solar PV panels and vehicle charging, subject to additional costs.

The first floor of each home features an en suite master bedroom, two additional bedrooms, and a family bathroom.

Each house also boasts a modern, open-plan living space, including lounge and dining or family areas and a designer kitchen.

Outside, residents have access to a sun terrace, formal gardens, and designated parking spaces.

As the community is a private, gated establishment, a yearly management fee of roughly £450 will be introduced, covering maintenance costs for communal areas.
