PARENTS, staff and pupils will all be consulted on a proposal for a village primary school to become part of the Marches Academy Trust.

Selattyn CE Primary School, in Glyn Road, is entering into consultation to join the Marches Academy Trust, marking a ‘significant’ step towards enhancing educational opportunities and fostering collaborative excellence in the community.

Sarah Finch, chief executive officer of the Marches Academy Trust, said she is delighted to potentially add the school to its portfolio across Shropshire.

She said: “We are excited to embark on this journey with Selattyn CE Primary School, building a strong multi-academy trust founded on the principles of Achievement Through Caring.

“This partnership presents a wonderful opportunity for mutual growth and development, and we are eager to continue our work together."

A Marches Academy Trust spokesman added that the school would be able to tap into the resources available from the other schools, particularly for learning.

They added that staff and pupils would benefit from work already carried out in other primary schools already established in the Trust.

They said: “Committed to nurturing the potential of every student, Selattyn CE Primary School has always prioritised the highest standards of education, with a deep-seated belief in placing students at the heart of its mission.

“By aligning with the Marches Academy Trust, the school aims to strengthen its primary expertise and fortify the existing partnership between member schools, with a specific focus on advancing creative curriculum initiatives.

“Joining the Trust presents an array of opportunities for innovation and the sharing of best practices among staff members, ensuring a dynamic learning environment for both educators and students alike.
