A ROAD in Powys has reopened this morning after being shut for 12 hours following a road traffic collision.
The A458 near Welshpool was closed just after 9pm on Saturday night (April 20). The collision occurred near Bank Farm Caravan Park, just outside Middletown, close to the Powys-Shropshire border.
Witnesses said the crash happened at around 9.15pm, with Dyfed Powys Police confirming the road was back open around 9am this morning.
One witness reported that the accident involved a high-speed head-on collision between two cars, and occurred as one was completing an overtaking manoeuvre.
The eyewitness posted on the North Powys Community Travel Alerts Facebook page that they saw one car “roll several times”.
